Mary Beth Hamel, MD, MPH

Executive Editor, The New England Journal of Medicine

In addition to being the Executive Editor of the New England Journal of Medicine, Dr. Hamel is Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Her editorial work at the New England Journal of Medicine focuses on health policy, health service delivery, geriatrics, and gastroenterology. She is a faculty member in the Division of General Medicine and Primary Care at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where she practices primary care, teaches clinical medicine and research methodology, and conducts clinical research in the areas of palliative care and geriatrics.
